Our pick of destinations for the ultimate adrenaline-filled break.
There is much focus on R&R holidays but what about those who want something different while taking a break?
Australians are often described as the most adventurous and willing to seek out unusual and out-of-the-way destinations. Perhaps you’re ready to swap your daily grind for an adrenaline-filled break somewhere different? Here’s a few ways on how you can become your own adrenaline-seeker on your next trip.
Fiji – Swimming with sharks
Offering an extreme diving experience, a dive tour company will take you out to Beqa Island to witness a shark feeding. While you’re on the dive, you will witness the feeding frenzy with various species of shark – reef, grey nurse, large bull, silvertip and the incredible tiger sharks. There is no cage on the dive, just a rope separating the divers from the sharks. No doubt you might want to read the fine print in the waiver before you dive!
New Zealand – Wairua Warrior
You can take part in an obstacle course and endurance challenge with a Kiwi slant at the Wairua Warrior held in Nelson. Taking place annually, the challenge allows for you to live out your obstacle course dreams and unleash your inner warrior. The three top men and woman qualifiers automatically qualify to compete in the OCR World Championships!
Ninja Warrior Course and World’s Biggest Trampoline, Scotland
Opening earlier this year in Glasgow, Scotland is the World’s Biggest Trampoline and Ninja Warrior Course. The Australian-owned trampoline site measures a huge space – nearly 5900 square metres! The Ninja Warrior course features a full-size flip street adult section – battle beam section over a foam pit, football and dodgeball park and a bungee run and a helter-skelter from a first floor mezzanine into a ball pit.
DIY Adventures for families
Often adventure and adrenalin-filled holidays are not tailored for families and children. However, families come in different shapes and sizes and adventure travel is one way you can share fast-paced and fun holidays with all the family.
